I spent 15 years in the security camera industry before switching to pet products in 2018. I knew manufacturing. I knew supply chains. What I didn’t expect was how few pet product companies were actually investing in either.

Petrust started with a simple premise: build the product properly, or don’t build it at all. That means our own factory, our own R&D team, our own molds. A new product takes us 1 to 2 years from concept to production. By 2025, we’d grown to a 10,000 m² facility with a dedicated office building. I attend over 12 trade shows a year — global buyers deserve to meet the person behind the product.

Clients who’ve worked with other suppliers and come back tend to say the same thing:

“You actually listen. We send feedback, you act on it. Most suppliers just find the cheapest source, take the margin, and move on. You’re the only ones who think like we do.”

That reputation creates a real dilemma: the same products that earn that kind of loyalty often attract competing buyers in the same market — some offering higher prices, others committing to larger volumes. There’s no clear answer. It’s a call we have to make every time.
